Who They Are
Andy’s Man Club was born from tragedy. In 2016, Andy Roberts took his own life at the age of 23. His family had no idea he was struggling. He never asked for help. He never told anyone how he felt. Like so many men, he suffered in silence.
His family — led by his mum Elaine and step-dad Luke Ambler — decided that Andy’s death would not be in vain. They created Andy’s Man Club as a free, peer-to-peer support group where men could talk openly about their mental health in a safe, non-judgemental environment. What started as one group in Halifax has now grown into a nationwide movement with groups meeting every Monday evening across the UK.
Their message is simple but powerful: #ItsOkayToTalk. Three words that have helped save thousands of lives.
What They Do
Weekly Talking Groups
Free, peer-led groups every Monday at 7pm across the UK. No referral needed, no appointment — just turn up. Men supporting men through honest, open conversation.
Nationwide Network
Over 100 groups across England, Scotland, Wales and beyond. Wherever you are, there’s likely an Andy’s Man Club near you. And if there isn’t, they’re working on it.
Peer Support Model
Groups are facilitated by men who’ve been through their own struggles. There are no therapists or clinical settings — just blokes who get it, in a room where honesty is welcomed.
Breaking the Stigma
Campaigning to change the conversation around men’s mental health. From social media to workplace talks, Andy’s Man Club is challenging the “man up” culture that costs lives.
Why Competition Kingz Supports Andy’s Man Club
This one hits close to home. We know men who’ve struggled in silence. We know families who’ve lost someone they love because they didn’t know they were hurting. The statistics are staggering — 12 men a day lost to suicide in the UK. Twelve. Every single day.
Andy’s Man Club is doing something about it. Not with expensive therapy or waiting lists, but with a simple room, a cup of tea and a group of men who understand. It’s that simplicity that makes it so powerful and so effective.
Every competition entry you make at Competition Kingz helps keep these groups running. You’re not just winning prizes — you’re helping to keep the doors open for men who might be walking in for the first time tonight. And for some of those men, that first visit is the moment everything changes.
“You don’t have to be broken to walk through the door. You just have to be willing to talk.”
